  • Patricia Frances Elizabeth Strauss, née O'Flynn (21 October 1909 - 16 July 1987). Born in Ireland she was the daughter of Patrick Frank O'Flynn, a merchant. On 21 March 1932 she married George Strauss. She became Lady Strauss when her husband was given a life peerage in 1979. At the 1945General Election she was Labour candidate at Kensington South. Although Labour won the election in a landslide, the seat remained solidly Conservative. She was a governor of the Old Vic Theatre, Sadler's Wells Theatre, The Royal Ballet, Sadler's Wells Opera, Ballet Rambert and St Martin's School of Art.

From 1946-49 representing Lambeth Northelected 1946 Lambeth North and from 1949-58 Lambeth Vauxhall. These were the same areas that her husband represented in the House of Commons. She was a governor of the Old Vic Theatre, Sadler's Wells Theatre, The Royal Ballet, Sadler's Wells Opera, Ballet Rambert and St Martin's School of Art.
