Ellis directing Final Destination 2 (2003) and The Final Destination (2009). Steven Quale directed the fifth and the most recent installment of the franchise Final Destination 5 (2011) which has garnered the most favorable reviews from critics. The series is notable among horror film fans for it's inventive death scenes and that the franchise is like typical slasher film series (like Friday the 13th, Scream or The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) only there's no actual killer, just Death itself.
