He also served as the Leader of the Urban Party of Rutania, the first Gao-Showa and Atheist to do so and as his party's Congressional leader. Oyama served as a representatives for for 18 years until he lost his bid for reelection in 3422 before winning his seat back in 3430. In 3426, he became the first sitting leader of the party to run or President. However, he placed second to last in the election. In 3428, he was announced his intention to not stand in the leadership race, instead opting to run for his old seat in the Parliament. He would go on to win his seat back in the Parliament; defeating the same person who beat him in 3422.
