| abstract | - Ginryū (銀流, Ginryū) is a Jōnin of Sunagakure that maintains significant authority across the village's various aspects. His skill and contribution to the village has landed him a top spot among the Suna Council, thus enabling him to command the majority of Sunagakure's military forces in times of war with his only senior being Samiya herself. Notably, in recognition of his skill and pioneering the use of a unique Kekkei Tōta, he is hailed as Ginryū of the River Release (川遁の銀流, Senton no Ginryū). Although heavily talented in the Shinobi arts, Ginryū's passion lies in the theory behind them. He has climbed his way to earn a doctorate and is thus regarded as Doctor Ginryū (銀流博士, Ginryū Hakase) among his companions in the Sunagakure Laboratory, spearheading research into ninjutsu and its various fields, with specific focus on nature transformations. A part of his life that Ginryū personally tries to ignore, but is constantly brought up, is his comparison with the current Kazekage, Samiya. Ginryū, born into distant relatives of the main line of the Kazekage Clan, was born to considerable strength and rose to Chūnin by the age of ten. The prospect of him wielding a Kekkei Tōta lead the elders of the Suna Council at the time to dub him as a Sixth Kazekage Candidate (六代目風影候補, Rokudaime Kazekage Kōho). However, the advent of Samiya's feats within the Sunagakure Civil War proved that his potential became somewhat meaningless. While many would seek to manipulate this supposed bitterness towards Samiya as a means to start a revolt, Ginryū's priorities lie towards his own interests and that of the village. He is well aware that Samiya does not see him with any sort of disrespect, and respects her authority in the village with great regard as well. It is thus appropriately said that behind the facade of apathy Ginryū holds is a Shinobi willing to do everything for the sake of his people, even if it means compromise his own reputation.
