She also had a good head for business, and by the time she finished school she was already doing most of her parents' negotiating. Elith met Kieran Sapphire in 133 ABY when she was twenty-four and he thirty-one; he had returned to Irimor to visit his family. The two were quite taken with one another, and kept in touch long-distance. They were very involved with their careers, between Kieran's service in the Order of Keltrayu and Elith's frequent trips off Irimor to buy or sell rare antiquities at trade shows or with a select clientele, and though Elith accepted Kieran's proposal of marriage after the Conquest of the Chiss Ascendancy in 137 ABY, both understood it would be a long-term engagement. Long-term it was; by 156 ABY, the two remained unmarried, though entirely committed to one another. Elith met several of Kieran's fellow Centurions and became friends with Arcantha Syr; Kieran, in turn, was well-liked by Elith's siblings and her niblings called him "Uncle Kieran". Elith attended Jira Zaffrod's concert at the Samayus Palace of Opera in 153 ABY as Kieran's date. Elith did occasionally ask Kieran to move back to Irimor so they could be together, although she appreciated his commitment to the Order. Elith's parents retired in the mid-140s ABY, and Elith took over the business in her own right. In mid-156, Kieran contacted Elith to inform her that he had picked up a Twi'lek ward, a young girl whom he had rescued from a slave camp. Elith was surprised by the development, especially when she watched the slow change in her lover that the girl, Nizenya, wrought. However, when he told her the whole story, she encouraged him to be supportive. In the end, Kieran realized the Citadel was no place for a non-Force-sensitive child, and resigned his commission to adopt Nizenya as his daughter. The two moved in with Elith on Irimor. Kieran and Elith would never have children of their own, but she was willing to support him in raising Nizenya, and grew fond of the girl, working with Kieran to help Nizenya overcome her anxiety and trauma. Nizenya always remained closer to Kieran than anyone else, but she slowly grew to trust Elith. Meanwhile, Elith and Kieran began to plan their wedding at last. They postponed the ceremony once after the death of Eskol Kaartinen in late 157 ABY; Elith and Nizenya accompanied Kieran to both the funeral and the interment on Keliso. Elith and Kieran finally married in 158 ABY.
