She married Fred Somerset Hartnell on 20 September 1919. A member of Chelsea Borough Council she was Mayor of Chelsea in 1939-1941. In 1940 her brother succeeded to the title of Earl of Manvers and she and her sister were granted the style and precedence of the daughter of an Earl by Royal Warrant.
