- Critical reception was largely unfavorable, with critics criticizing the script and deeming CGI and acting as poor. Despite this, the film was a box office success making over $132 million against its $57 million budget. Despite the film's box office success, Nicolas Cage has said that he's "done" with the Ghost Rider films. In May 2013, film rights to Ghost Rider were reverted to Marvel Studios but the studio has no plans to make a Ghost Rider film in near future.
