  • Darien Troy, New Arrival (Wiley Gorn), age 26 You grew up in Khalist, the capital, but three months ago came to Tedoch to escape the hustle and bustle of big city life. You’re an honest man and a hard-worker, applying yourself readily to the struggles of factory work. You’ve fit easily into the Tedoch community, such as it exists—you befriended Leor (Reed Peck-Kriss), the bitter old pit fighter, and are very seriously romantically involved with Salia Chayes, the seamstress (Lizzy Neiman). That’s the story everyone knows, anyway. In reality, you’re a member of the Masq, a deadly and terrifying order of the law. Backed by a group of the Emperor’s mad prophets, you find and stop crime as it happens, based on the (admittedly often vague) prophecies. Each Masq is given an identical mask, and no two ever work together, giving the illusion of one single deadly crime-fighter. Of course, you don’t work the job because you dislike crime, or believe in justice, or anything like that. You work the job because you enjoy the thrill of the hunt, the game of cat and mouse, the vicious joy of finally catching and killing your prey. And you? You’re very, very, very good at your job. In Khalist, you were working on tracking down a particularly clever thief, who always managed to outsmart you, no matter how many times you caught up to her. Like you, she wore a mask, so you were never able to track her down in daily life. The prophets told you that she was going to make a major heist in Tedoch, tonight, so three months ago you came to town to begin tracking her down. According to other members of the Masq, she’s been sighted in Khalist as recently as two weeks ago, so whoever she is, she just arrived. Your prime suspects are: One of the Ka’tiga—either Ema’nan Ta, a teen (Lily Rosenthal), or Endo’lon Ta, a scout (Zed Lucienne). Ryxain, one of the Northern demons, from one of the major cities of Hell. (Rio Sperling) Marta (Julia Sub), one of Inspector Datanne’s apprentices. Jess Casta (Dorothy Cosentina), a local, a single mother. You need to track each of them down and interrogate them. You’re going to catch this thief, one way or another.
