The Xildras grew to be hungry for power and influence and jealous of the Nigreosians' rule. Civil war broke out between the two. Overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of the Nigreosians, the weakened Xildras surrendered, and the war came to an end. A few years later, a revived hatred of Xildras caused an act called the Mass Xildra Purge. This had devastating effects on the Xildra population, and the few who survived were drawn into hiding, only to eventually die out. Due to their limiting religious beliefs, the Nigreosians refused to venture offplanet. Several Imperial attempts to take control of the planet were made, but were all countered with vicious ferocity. A following visit by the sith introduced them to the Force, a power that they were utterly fascinated with. However, after a fierce battle between two sith that resulted in the destruction of the Aesulus of ζe'vu-Rδ and the death of their ρμάσleες, they viewed it as an evil omen and forbid the use of it on their planet.
