- The Red Death is a fictional character first featured in Edgar Allan Poe's short story The Masque of the Red Death (also The Mask of the Red Death). A grotesque figure garbed in a blood stained robe similar to a death shroud and with a face resembling that of a corpse, it is the embodiment of the red death itself ( a fictional plague in the story) which has come to bring death to the nobles who vainly sought to escape its reach by hiding in an abbey. Various interpretations have been advanced by scholars as to how best to interpret the story with some insisting that it is a work of allegory while others contend that it something entirely different.

Lukàs's mutant powers allow him to emit a toxic, red coloured smoke from his lungs. If the gas is inhaled than it can damage the body by rapidly decomposing it, generally in a few seconds. Lukàs himself is immune to the gas. He can manipulate this gas into non-solid forms, generally to intimidate enemies or to shroud himself.
Levitation
Lukàs can use his crimson gas to levitate himself for short periods of time. He can only be static while levitating. He can reach a height of 450 metres but can only sustain that for about 5 minutes.

| Equipment | - Lukàs normally dons a metal mask that resembles a skull. It only covers his face and not the whole of his head. He also wears a crimson hood, trousers and sleeveless robes, as well as leather elbow length gloves and knee length boots.
