In the time of the story, when it was set, whiches loved wearing red hoods. A which was entering a forest, when a man confrunted her telling her that he wanted to be a werewolf. She began to search desperately for the basket. Why the wolf in Kolyma hid the basket of goodies in the mailbox may never be known. But what is known is why Riding Hood was carrying flowers when she met Graham. Little Red later attended Graham and Valanice's wedding at the Monastery of the Blessed Wilbury.
  • "Little Red Riding Hood" ("Le Petit Chaperon Rouge") first appeared in print as a story by Charles Perrault; another, more optimistic version ("Rotkäppchen" a.k.a. "Little Red Cap") was later published by The Brothers Grimm, which has pretty much supplanted Perrault's in the collective consciousness. When the little girl arrives, the wolf has dressed himself in the old woman's bedclothes and gotten into bed. Red Riding Hood, growing worried, remarks on how unusual her "grandmother" looks: They made a nice little video game based on the story. And a not so nice one, too.

  • Once upon a time there lived a young girl of around fifteen or sixteen years old. She was a beautiful young girl: the kind of girl upon whom you might lay your eyes and walk into a lamp post or fall into a river. Despite her beauty, she dwelt within a dilapidated old house with her mother (whose mental capacity was questionable at best). The girl, whose social instincts and fashion sense had been severely distorted by her mother's neglect and possible schizophrenia, never associated with anyone except her useless old grandmother. Furthermore, she never left her home without wearing a rather tacky red cloak, which is what earned her the name Little Red Riding Hood.
  • The girl walks through the woods to deliver food to her sick grandmother, however a wolf wants to eat the girl but is afraid to do so in public. He approaches "Little Red Riding Hood" and she naïvely tells him where she is going. He suggests the girl pick some flowers, which she does. In the meantime, he goes to the grandmother's house and gains entry by pretending to be the girl. He swallows the grandmother whole, and waits for the girl, disguised as the grandmother.
  • Little Red Riding Hood discovers that the Big Bad Wolf has disguised himself as Granny, just as the axe-wielding woodsman bursts through the window, startling everyone. The police quickly arrive, and Red, Wolf, Granny and the Woodsman are questioned by detective Nicky Flippers about the events leading up to the incident.

One spring day, Red Riding Hood was summoned to her mother's smelly den. The darkness was only pierced by the poorly constructed black and white image emanating from the large wooden television. From her creaky rocking chair, Riding Hood's mother gave her a brown bag and said, "Take this bag and deliver it to your grandmother, but don't open it or I will kill you." Riding Hood took the bag and put it in her cloak as she walked down the broken old stairs in front of her house. Her grandmother lived deep in the forest, which Riding Hood had always found rather strange, given that she herself lived in a densely populated urban centre. "No matter," she thought. "I have been to grandmother's place many times." Though grandmother's home was so secluded, she was not worried about getting lonely, for there were always many people at her grandmother's house. All day long, cars would pull into her driveway and vanish just as quickly. "It's good that she has so many friends," Riding Hood had said to herself. "Old people need attention, especially when they are so weak and useless like my grandmother." She walked and walked and walked until, eventually, she got to the forest in which her grandmother resided. As she entered the dense woods, she was stopped by a voice behind her. "Hey little girl, what's your hurry?" the voice requested. Riding Hood looked around and confronted a man, only a little taller than herself, though nearly twice as wide. He was wearing a fine tailored suit with plenty of jewellery on his stubby fingers. He looked to her like a fine, upstanding businessman. The two looked at each other for several seconds before the man finally spoke up. He spoke with an Italian inflection. "What's in the bag, little girl?" he asked her. "It's a gift for my grandmother; I don't know what's inside. Who are you?" she replied. "Well, little girl, how about you give that to me?" he offered, "I will pay you for it, of course." Red Riding Hood considered this offer for a moment; she was rather strapped for cash, after all. However, after some deliberation, she decided against it. "I'm sorry, but I could never do that. This package is for my grandmother. Beside that, I made a promise to my mother to deliver it," she explained. "Who are you?" she asked again. "You can just call me The Wolf, little girl," the man said, clearly disappointed by her reluctance. "I won't ask you for the package again, little girl, but I am hopeful that we will meet again." Red Riding Hood was surprised by this encounter but thought nothing of it. The man seemed nice enough, and after all, she was going for a walk in the woods; what could possibly happen in the woods? She ventured deeper and deeper into the foreboding darkness of the forest. As she walked along the uneven, tire-marked path of the forest floor, she felt a dull pain in her feet. She had been walking for hours, and had not stopped to take a rest the entire time. She walked over to a nearby tree stump by the river and sat down upon it. It is still early, and it won't matter if I stop to rest, Riding Hood thought to herself. After an hour or so of rest, she resumed her trek. As she approached the sun-soaked clearing in which her grandmother's brick house resided, she took the bag out of her cloak and got ready to present it to her grandmother. She walked up the steps to the front door and entered. She heard the chatter of several frustrated sounding men around the side of the house, but proceeded to the bedroom to present her grandmother with the gift. As she entered, she could not help but notice how dark the room was. The silhouetted figure of her grandmother was visible against the orange glow of the thick curtains. "I've brought you a present, grandmother," Riding Hood said, holding out the package. "Thank you, little girl," said her grandmother. She did not sound particularly well, and Riding Hood feared that she was sick. "Oh grandmother, what a deep, Italian voice you have!" she said. "Little girl, that is all the better to charm you with," said her grandmother, as a large hand emerged from the darkness to retrieve the package. "Grandmother, what incredibly stubby man hands you have," Riding Hood exclaimed. "All the better to crush you with, little girl," said her grandmother, emerging from the darkness. "Oh my, grandmother, what a grossly obese figure you have," Red Riding Hood said, only now realizing something was amiss. "All the better to--" her voice stopped. "Please, that's not my fault. The doctors have assured me that it's a glandular problem. No matter, little girl, for I told you we would meet again." Startled, Red Riding Hood turned to leave, but the mysterious stranger grabbed her and tied her up. He threw her into the closet very violently, where she saw her grandmother who was also tied up. Although they were bloody and in agonizing pain, they could hear the men outside talking about it. In the meanwhile, a huntsman of the bounty sort had been observing the house. He snuck around the back and went into the house. Drawn toward the voices of the men, he approached the bedroom. He noticed two men standing there in the darkness, immediately recognizing The Wolf. "So I've found you at last, you old bastard," said the huntsman. "I've been looking for you for a long time." He took aim with his gun, and shot the men to death. Annoyed by the whining coming from behind the thick wooden closet door, he opened it and saw a red cloak shining forth. He produced some scissors from his sack and proceeded to sever the ropes that were restraining the two women. Riding Hood leapt out and exclaimed, "Oh, how frightened I was! It was so dark in the closet, and it smelled pretty bad too!" Soon the grandmother came out, looking rather inebriated, but able to speak. "Where is the package, girl?" she said in a hoarse voice. "You had better not have ruined it or you owe me a lot of money."( you see cocaine is very expensive). "It is over there, grandmother," Red Riding Hood replied, pointing at the bloated corpse of The Wolf. "Enjoy it please, but I must be getting back to my mother now. She will be worried sick about me, I'm sure." Red Riding Hood dusted herself off and bid farewell to her grandmother and to the huntsman. She began the long walk home, and along the way, began thinking to herself. After musing for several minutes, she came to a conclusion, which also happens to be the moral of this story: Never associate with Italian people. It will only lead to trouble.

In the Grimms' version, she had the order from her mother to stay strictly on the path. A Big Bad Wolf wants to eat the girl and the food in the basket. He secretly stalks her behind trees, bushes, shrubs, and patches of little and tall grass. He approaches Little Red Riding Hood and she naïvely tells him where she is going. He suggests that the girl pick some flowers; which she does. In the meantime; he goes to the grandmother's house and gains entry by pretending to be the girl. He swallows the grandmother whole (in some stories, he locks her in the closet) and waits for the girl, disguised as the grandma. When the girl arrives, she notices that her grandmother looks very strange. Little Red then says, "What a deep voice you have!" ("The better to greet you with"), "Goodness, what big eyes you have!" ("The better to see you with"), "And what big hands you have!" ("The better to hug/grab you with"), and lastly, "What a big mouth you have" ("The better to eat you with!"), at which point the wolf jumps out of bed, and eats her up too. Then he falls asleep. In Charles Perrault's version of the story (the first version to be published), the tale ends here. However, in later versions the story continues generally as follows: A woodcutter (in the French version but in the Brothers Grimm and traditional German versions, it was a hunter) comes to the rescue and with his axe cuts open the sleeping wolf. Little Red Riding Hood and her grandmother emerge unharmed. They then fill the wolf's body with heavy stones. The wolf awakens and tries to flee, but the stones cause him to collapse and die (Sanitized versions of the story have the grandmother shut in the closet instead of eaten, and some have Little Red Riding Hood saved by the lumberjack as the wolf advances on her rather than after she is eaten where the woodcutter kills the wolf with his axe).

The goodies were hidden in the mailbox outside Grandma's house, and when he gave them to the girl, she handed him her bouquet of wildflowers. Graham gave the flowers to the mermaid he met. She thanked Graham, and then left skipping off her grandmother. In one story about Little Red, the girl was warned by her parents that she must never stray from the path through the woods for any reason. As she took a basket of goodies (cake and wine) through the woods to Grandma's house, Red met a wolf, although she didn't know what one was. The wolf asked where she was going, and Red told him. They strolled together for a time until furry-face decided it was time to dine. He suggested that Red leave the path and pick some wildflowers for her grandmother. Disobeying her parents, Red left the path to do some picking. While she was doing, the wolf ran ahead to the house, pretended to be girl, and when he got inside, gobbled Granny whole. A little later Little Red arrived and noticed what big eyes, ears, hands, and teeth "Grandma" had. Of course it was the wolf in disguise, and he gobbled up the girl whole also. After such a meal, the big, bad wolf fell asleep and began to snore loudly. The sound was heard by a hunter, who rushed inside the house thinking Grandma was ill. The hunter recognized the wolf for what it was and shot the creature dead through the head. He then heard noises from inside the wolf, and cutting the body open, found Grandma and Red alive. The girl still had the flowers clutched in her hand. Why the wolf in Kolyma hid the basket of goodies in the mailbox may never be known. But what is known is why Riding Hood was carrying flowers when she met Graham. Little Red later attended Graham and Valanice's wedding at the Monastery of the Blessed Wilbury.
  • In "The Son Also Draws", she is scared by Peter Griffin, who was dressed in a wolf costume. Stewie Griffin performs in the role of Little Red Riding Hood in "Grimm Job".
  • Little Red Riding Hood is a French and later European fairy tale about a young girl and a Big Bad Wolf. Captain Samantha Carter referred to the line "My, what big eyes you have." when meeting T'akaya in the form of a wolf. (SG1: "Spirits")
In the story, a young girl, known by her favourite red hood, goes out into the woods to bring her sick grandmother some good things to eat. On the way, she is stopped by a wolf, who asks her where she is going. Too innocent to be afraid, she tells him, and they go their separate ways. Specifically: the wolf takes a shortcut to the grandmother's house, impersonates Little Red Riding Hood, and swallows the grandmother whole. When the little girl arrives, the wolf has dressed himself in the old woman's bedclothes and gotten into bed. Red Riding Hood, growing worried, remarks on how unusual her "grandmother" looks: The dialogue continues in this pattern (but omits Grandma, What Massive Hotness You Have!) until she makes the comment: And the wolf springs and devours her. Depending on the version, the girl and her grandmother may be rescued by a passing huntsman or other benefactor, whereupon they may take revenge upon the wolf (in "Rotkäppchen", they fill the wolf's belly with stones). In Perrault's version, however, the story ends with the girl's death, followed by a moral warning young ladies to beware of "wolves", especially those who are "charming, quiet, unassuming, complacent, and sweet". French folk versions (such as this one), which do not feature the red hat, have the heroine deduce the problem before the wolf eats her, and escape by saying she needs to visit the bathroom; folklorists believe this is the older version. An Homage to this story appears in the song "Hey Little Red Riding Hood" which makes the wolf out as a would-be suitor rather than a vicious animal wanting to consume her for food. This may be closer to the original version of the story, which some scholars believe to be a tale of seduction, with the red cape symbolizing menstruation, and therefore fertility. Of course, that does hit the slight problem that Perrault introduced the red cape. In the original folktales, no mention was made of any particular article of clothing, let alone its color. They made a nice little video game based on the story. And a not so nice one, too. The most recent film rendition of the story features a 2011 live-action film treatment starring Amanda Seyfried as the eponymous heroine, and a wolf based more in the supernatural realm. It's also the basis for the pilot episode of the 2011 TV series Grimm, in which a young girl in a red hoodie is abducted by a shapechanging wolf-creature. Such a ubiquitous story is naturally a Fountain of Expies: * A little girl who dresses in red and winds up in danger is a common motif; she's Little Dead Riding Hood. * Also popular are revisionist retellings where Red takes matters into her own hands and kicks some wolf butt; she's Little Red Fighting Hood. * The Big Bad Wolf has his own trope, not to mention probably inspiring the names of Big Bad and Big Badass Wolf. * Not really related (usually), but with an obvious Homage in the Trope Namer, is Grandma, What Massive Hotness You Have!.

  • Little Red Riding Hood (or more commonly known as Little Red) is the fairytale girl turned demented valet for her monsterous protector, Krimson Mask. After finding themselves in the real world, the two looked for answers to their vandalized past in Lords of Pain Wrestling (LPW), featured most dominantly on the Insanity brand. As a valet and manager, Little Red would lead Krimson Mask to win the LPW World Heavyweight Championship just eight months into their debut. Little Red would have a love-hate relationship with Krimson Mask's arch-nemesis, cYnical, often contemplating whether he was her "Knight in Shining Armor" or using her to defeat Krimson Mask to gain control of the World title. After cYnical defeated Krimson Mask for the belt, Little Red would be instated as the Insanity brand's General Manager during its fifth season. Using Insanity as her playground, she would childishly manipulate the roster to defeat her ex. After being replaced by Eric Scorpio after Altered Reality V, she and Krimson Mask returned at Insanity LIVE from Transylvania, attacking Scorpio's brother Ash Strife.

Red explains that she was delivering goodies for her grandmother when she discovered a threat from the mysterious Goodie Bandit. Hoping to save her Granny’s recipes, she embarked upon a journey to take them to the top of a nearby mountain where her Granny lives. On her way, she encountered the Wolf, who asked her a series of suspicious questions. She managed to escape, and eventually reached her Granny’s house; however she found the Wolf already waiting in ambush. What at first seems to be an open-and-shut case becomes confused though, once it is learned that the Wolf is an investigative reporter. He reveals that he was searching for a lead on the identity of the Goodie Bandit, and had reason to believe that Granny and Red were the culprits. Locating Red, he questioned her, hoping to get to the bottom of the mystery. When Red escaped, he headed for her Granny’s house and arriving first, went undercover, hoping to trick her into giving him the evidence he needed. When questioned, the Woodsman reveals that he is in fact an aspiring actor who was only trying out for the part of a woodsman in a commercial. After his schnitzel truck was robbed by the Goodie Bandit, he went out into the woods to get in character for his role, and spent the rest of the day felling trees. An especially large tree rolled after him, and pushed him through the window of Granny’s home. The investigation then turns to Granny, who reveals that, unbeknownst to her family, she is an extreme sports enthusiast. During a ski race earlier that day, she was attacked by the opposing team, but got away safely after learning that they were hired by the Goodie Bandit. Despondent over her Granny’s lack of honesty, Red wanders off alone. Meanwhile, Nicky Flippers realizes that the one commonality between all four stories was a bunny named Boingo, and concludes that he is the Goodie Bandit. However, Boingo has already sneaked into the home and stolen Granny’s recipes. Red sees Boingo and follows him to his hideout at a cable car station, but the police pursue him in the wrong direction. Granny, the Wolf, and the Woodsman manage to locate Boingo as he is explaining his evil scheme to Red. Boingo plans to add an addictive substance to the stolen recipes, and then explode the forest, making way for new real estate for expanding his business. The Wolf and the Woodsman go undercover to distract Boingo as Granny sneaks into his lair, but open conflict ensues. Boingo sends a bound and gagged Red down the mountain in a cable car loaded with explosives, and Granny goes after her, with Boingo and his henchmen in pursuit. Red manages to free herself, and escapes with Granny, while the police, who have been located by the Wolf’s assistant Twitchy, are waiting at the bottom of the mountain to arrest Boingo and his henchmen. Some time later, the Woodsman finds success as part of a yodeling troupe, and Red, Granny, the Wolf, and Twitchy are enlisted by Nicky Flippers to join a crime solving organization called Happily Ever After Agency.
