  • They are mysterious special items which appeared after the 29 past Ranger teams sacrificed their powers. They were dispersed all over the universe. The group known as the Red Pirates, consisting of the Red Legend, Marvelous, and Basco Jolokia, knowing that with them they would find the Greatest Treasure in the Universe, collected them and put them in a chest in the Galleon. Basco betrayed the two, wanting the Keys and the Treasure for himself, conspiring with the Armada to attack the ship. The Red Legend gave the Ranger Key chest to Marvelous before departing. It's unknown where the High Seas Ranger Keys originated from. However, it was revealed that they didn't find them all, as Basco found the Keys of the Sixth Rangers afterwards. These Keys were later taken by the High Seas Rangers, but Basco revealed that he had keys of the Extra Rangers and Extra Heroes as well. Once again, these Keys were later taken by the High Seas Rangers. Nick Russell revealed that to obtain the Greatest Treasure, the full power of the keys of all 29 Ranger teams must be unlocked. Normally stored in their chest called the Power Chest, or in a Legendary Buckle, the Ranger Keys fold to form a key which can allow the user to become a High Seas Ranger or access the powers of one of the previous 29 Power Ranger teams by using it in the Legendary Morphers. By using it on the weapons it can activate a Final Wave attack. Basco can summon manifestations of Sixth Rangers and Extra Heroes by putting the keys in his magic trumpet and playing it. Though the Ranger Keys are kept in the chest on the Galleon, the High Seas Rangers can use them on Earth thanks to a link in their bucklers set-up by Navi, in which the desired key will appear. Aside from the High Seas Keys, the other Ranger Keys are not specific to any of the five Rangers. While the High Seas Rangers primarily transform into a previous Power Ranger of their color, the High Seas Rangers can use a Ranger Key of any color. When their representative color was not on on the previous team, the High Seas Rangers can transform into the closest analog. For example, if the Rangers were to transform into the Wild Force Rangers, High Seas Green would transform into the Black Wild Force Ranger and High Seas Pink would transform into the White Wild Force Ranger. If the gender of the original hero is different, the Hi Seas Ranger's transformed suit will match the style used by their gender. For example, when High Seas Blue and High Seas Yellow transform into the Blue Mystic Ranger and Yellow Mystic Ranger in episode 1, the Blue suit is in the male Mystic Ranger style and the Yellow suit in the female style. S.P.D. is the only exception as it did not feature any real difference on the suits between the Rangers and thus, there is no suit change when a Ranger of an opposite gender uses a Key from that team. The Ranger Keys are also compatible with the control helms for the Legendary and Q-Rex Megazords, allowing the two Megazords to gain access to an unlocked Grand Power through the Ranger Keys. The Ranger Keys can also activate a Ranger's Super Mode if they had one. The only exception to this was the Armored Red Ranger, as Z.J., as the Green Ranger, had to give Marvelous the Dragon Shield the same way Tommy did to Jason. If the original Rangers come into contact with their respective Ranger Keys, as shown in The Trouble with Pirates and Ninjas, A Furious Reunion, and Battle of the Legends, the keys will glow and they will automatically regain their powers and transform, removing the Ranger Key from existence. Conversely, a Ranger who has regained their powers this way can voluntarily relinquish them and transform the powers back into a Ranger Key, allowing the High Seas Rangers to use them once again. As of The Final Battle, all of the Ranger Keys sans the High Seas Rangers' personal Keys were returned to their rightful owners, restoring the power of the 29 previous Power Ranger teams. However, despite that, as shown in Hero Wars: Riders vs. Rangers, the High Seas Rangers somehow managed to get copies of the Ranger Keys, as shown when Marvelous used some of them to transform into several Power Ranger members.
