They are a very hostile tribe that detests outsiders and will sacrifice all those who come to their island by throwing them into the volcano. In the final part of "Smurfquest", the tikis were the ones who kept Grandpa Smurf from getting the fire element for the Long Life Stone many years ago and almost through him into the volcano. The Smurfs traveled to Tiki Island as part of their quest to restore the stone after Grandpa failed his mission. The tikis proved deadly and almost destroyed their chances of getting the element and returning home, but in the end the Smurfs were able to make it home thanks to the unintentional aid of Gargamel. The tikis were last seen chasing Gargamel into the sea.
