However, when word reached them of Desann's failed attempt at attacking the academy, they decided to attack while the Jedi's forces were still weakened. They took advantage of the academy's chaotic state and struck quickly in their attempt to steal the Sith secrets from the base's computer. However, they had vastly underestimated the readiness of the academy and of Kyle Katarn, who managed to repel their forces.
