  • POV specializes in previsualization, a relatively new, cost-effective process in which computer graphics are used to render rough versions of film shots and sequences prior to and during principal photography. This technique allows the filmmakers to make changes and decisions in advance. Besides Star Trek, POV has also worked on Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, Moulin Rouge, Men in Black II, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Van Helsing, I, Robot, Fantastic Four, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, X-Men: The Last Stand, and 1408.

They had previously worked with Star Trek director/producer J.J. Abrams on Paramount Pictures' Mission: Impossible III. They also did work on 2005's The Island, which was written by Star Trek scribes Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (and featured Star Trek: Voyager actor Ethan Phillips). Besides Star Trek, other upcoming film projects in which POV was involved include Get Smart (featuring The Rock), the animated Kung Fu Panda, and the remake of Robert Wise's science fiction classic The Day the Earth Stood Still.
