  • Eat is one of the actions that a creature can do to an object. Usually eating will decrease hunger, or in the case of C3/DS it may decrease hunger for carbohydrates, protein, or starch. In Creatures 1 all food was simply called "food" (Lemons, Honey, Carrots, and Cheese were the basics). Norns could eat food and plants. However, there was no verb "eat", so creatures had to "push food/herb/weed". Chris Double created some Eater Norns and modified a COB in order to get norns that... well, he can probably explain it better.

  • "Then we'll set aside sweetmeats for practicalities."
  • Groat introduces your guest. "Lord Regenard Turner, my [lady/lord]. Here for a feast, but has no appreciation for a good repast."
  • The sinewy lord studies you a moment then nods approvingly. "I have little interest in repast, more in matters of profit and market."
  • "Lord Turner, it's my pleasure to break bread with you."
  • Lord Turner fixes you with a grim look. "I should think with Roxton breathing fire on your gates, duck would be your last concern, [Your Character]."
  • "Let us forgo meat and wine in favor of business, Lord Turner."
  • "With friends and allies such as yourself seated at my table, I am sure of victory."
  • "Lord Turner, will you insult this excellent duck with your disdain?"
  • "Then we will turn to matters of mutual profit, and set cup and plate aside."
  • Lord Turner eyes the food with a shrug. "We have greater concerns right now than filling our bellies, I'd say."

In Creatures 2 the word "eat" was created, and some new foods and plants were added, including a new food group: 'fruit'. Thirst was also added (though it was removed again in C3), but there was no verb 'drink' so Norns had to 'eat drink' when thirsty. In Creatures 3 the things a creature could eat were expanded, and food began to decrease different types of hunger (Protein, Carbohydrates, Starch).
