| abstract | - Jill Stuart is a New Yorker fashion designer who founded her brand in 1993. Born into the world of fashion as her parents owned a well known sportswear company in the 1960’s and '70s dressing celebrities including Lucille Ball, Natalie Wood and Sheila Macrae. Dinners were filled with industry talk of collections, fabric design and advertising campaigns. She sold her first collection of silver and leather chokers and suede fringed hobos to Bloomingdales at 15 while still attending Manhattan’s Dalton School. Jill later attended the Rhode Island School of Design.
