More often than not, the Green Ranger (or, for a time, the Red Ranger) stayed outside the cockpit and controlled it remotely using the Dagger. On the rare occasions when Tommy would enter the cockpit however, he was shown to have a greater control on the Dragonzord. The Dragonzord was quite versatile in battle. Its primary attacks included a set of missiles that launched from its fingertips, along with a massive prehensile tail complete with a high-speed drill on its end. The red lights on its chestplate lit up when one of these attacks was imminent. Despite its power however, the Dragonzord rarely defeated an opponent on its own and it was often used to simply rescue the Megazord when it was in danger or to form one of the other Zord combinations. When Tommy first lost use of his powers via the Green Candle, he bestowed them onto Jason before Rita got them back, including the Dragon Dagger and, thus, use of the Dragonzord. Jason could produce the Dragon Dagger even while piloting Megazord and use it to remotely control the Dragonzord. Jason relinquished the Dagger and powers when Tommy subsequently regained his abilities. After the Rangers' Dinozords were used to create the Thunderzords, Tommy was able to continue using the Dragonzord in battle, though due to the Thunder Megazord being from Dairanger, it never appeared in the same scene as the Dragonzord. Soon after, however, Tommy lost the Green Ranger powers for good, and the Dragonzord returned to an indefinite sleep in the sea. Dragonzord would return a final time when the clone Green Ranger appeared and used it against Tommy and the Tigerzord. Surprisingly enough, the Dragonzord was able to defeat the Tigerzord, but it was eventually in turn defeated by the Thunder Megazord. Following that battle, the Dragonzord returned to the harbor, and is presumably still there as its destruction was never shown onscreen. Notably, the Dragonzord is quite similar to Godzilla both in appearance and the fact that just like Godzilla, the Dragonzord also rises from the sea.
