- John English (born May 13, 1966 in Toronto, Ontario) is a retired Canadian ice hockey defenceman. He played in the NHL for the Los Angeles Kings. In 3 regular season NHL games he recorded 4 points (1 goal and 3 assists). English played junior hockey for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, Hamilton Steelhawks, and Ottawa 67's of the Ontario Hockey League from 1983-86. The Los Angeles Kings chose him 48th in the 1984 NHL Entry Draft.

Marie Greyhounds, Hamilton Steelhawks, and Ottawa 67's of the Ontario Hockey League from 1983-86. The Los Angeles Kings chose him 48th in the 1984 NHL Entry Draft. After playing the 1986-87 season in the minor pros, English got a look with the Kings in 1987-88, playing three games. But that was all that he got, and was traded to the Edmonton Oilers near the ned of the 1988-89 season. He retired at the nd of that season.
