  • Dr. Max Sorsby (December 1907 - 8 June 1975) was a general practitioner and Labour Party politician. Born in Bialystock, Russia, he was the son of Jacob Souransky. The family moved to Leeds, Yorkshire via Antwerp when he was seven. He received his medical education in Leeds and at King's College London and Charing Cross Hospital, qualifying in 1933. From 1937-49 he was a member of Hackney Borough Council and from 1946-49 a member of the London County Council representing Hackney North. Obituary, Dr Max Sorsby.
