  • The Demon King is an enemy and final boss of Chocobo World, an add-on game for Final Fantasy VIII. Once the protagonist Chocobo, Boco, reaches level 100 and has encountered Koko, the love interest, the Demon King will capture her, forcing Boko to chase after him to save her. The demon has 99 HP, but is quite slow in attacking. Upon his defeat, the player will have fully completed both scenarios of the game. A trick to easily encounter the demon is to set the "move" selection of the game to 1; then every battle will be with the final boss.

  • The title of Demon King is used when a Demon becomes the leader of said race and it tends to be passed down within a particular family line. The very first Demon King was also the original demon and the first demon to ever exist, a demon by the name of Omega. Though it's not outright stated, it is implied that the Demon King is almost always related to Dakol in some way. For instance, Omega was essentially Dakol's son and the inheritor of one of the Supreme Ruler's Orbs of Dakol. After the destruction of Equinax, the title seemingly went with it until the time of the Chaos War when a second Demon King finally emerged to battle against the Vampires and their Overlord Haste Battosai. This Demon King was called Kuro Neele and he succeeded in ending the war by sealing Haste away in the chamber

This Demon King was called Kuro Neele and he succeeded in ending the war by sealing Haste away in the chamber of Amelie Bellec (The Lost Guardian) with help from Haste's two sons, Damion Battosai and Arikado Faust. After Kuro sacrificed his life to stop The Path (which failed), the demon race was leaderless once more until an unlikely candiate took up the mantle and preceded to barter a lasting peace treaty between the demons and vampires. This individual who is often hailed as the greatest Demon King was none other Izar Neele, son of Kuro Neele and the Lost Guardian Amelie Bellec. After Izar defeated The Path and then mysterious vanished, the title lost it's reputation when three new Demon Kings emerged and preceded to turn the Black Mountains into a prison, ruled by the kings similar to a dictatorship. Though there are currently three kings, Goarza is ultimate authority of the Demon Race and is the one who controls the other two.

See Torg Goes to Hell (chapter) for the backstory. The Demon King (usually) chooses the Demon Lords who rule the Dimension of Pain in his name; he has the ability to grant regular demons the requisite status of aristocracy, which turns them into larger, more "demonic" versions of themselves. He's a godlike figure to the demons and does not interact with them directly. His house rests on top of a large mountain of bones in the Elder Village, said to be the place where he fought the Goddess of Goodness. Aside from being absurdly large, his house looks like the average home found in suburbia, although his refrigerator — one of the kinds with the vertical doors — has the freezer section on the wrong side. He also keeps demonic newspapers nearby, which contain comic strips such as "Garfield burns IN HEL!" and "Cathy burns IN HEL!" The Demon King was injured and scarred by Chaz the talking sword as Torg made his escape from the Dimension of Pain once and for all. According to Chaz, it would be relatively easy for a sword such as himself to kill an ethereal Demon King, and even coming in contact with the blade somewhat indirectly was enough to cause the injuries. The Demon King first appeared on May 3, 1998.
