  • The Fearless Monster Hunters
rdfs:comment
  • Colonel Boldwig-Smythe and son Giles are in Transylvania, attempting to locate the "hideous Two-headed Monster". They believe that he is in Castle Frank N. Stein, but the colonel's Monster Detector is failing to work (possibly because the batteries are flat). Despite Giles spotting obvious signs pointing to the castle, Boldwig-Smythe decides to ask for directions in the Castle View Tea Shop. Inside, the colonel asks the waitress for the way, but his request makes her drop her tea in shock and the other customers begin whispering. Their scared faces make him believe that the rumours are true, although the waitress reveals that tonight is the night that Professor Frank N. Stein practises his yodelling.

From a table in the corner, Igor and a disguised Chuck D. Head invite the monster hunters over for a spot of novelty Asparagus and Broccoli Tea. Head has never heard of Boldwig-Smythe, so the "famous" monster hunter reveals he has captured the Abominable Snowman (that melted before they got it home) and the Flying Fiend of the Deep (actually just a fish on a piece of elastic). Igor reveals he knows where the "two-headed beast" is and, upon being promised a reward, rips off the coat hiding Chuck's other head. The plot backfires, however, as Boldwig-Smythe is certain that Chuck is a "fake", despite his son's protests. Believing that he is wasting his time here, Boldwig-Smythe prepares to head back to the United Kingdom, where he has heard tales of a "three-hatted Essex vampire" (actually an umpire). As the pair leave town, they hear the "unmistakable" cry of the "Mountain Banshee" and vow to return. They are unaware that it is just Stein singing into the night.
