  • Donald Lacy received the call of our Lord at an early age. He began his evangelical career shortly after college in the town of Seagraves, Texas, in the year 1963, at age 23. Next,in the great tradition of the traveling Church of Christ preacher, he moved on to Welch, Texas in 1965. Finally, he moved with his young family to Canyon, Texas in 1968. Mr. Lacy was considered to be at the forefront of the now famous Lacy School of the Church of Christ, making a gradual transition from legalism to a more faith based intepretation of dealing with life's struggles and obligations. His unorthodox ways quickly distinguished him as almost an icon among many in the southwestern United States who struggled to break free from conformism, follow the rulism, and keep quietism. Mr. Lacy is still following the call he received long ago and can be heard almost every week at the Canyon Hills Church of Christ in Canyon, Texas.
