Synopsis
  • Jonathan Kent is disgraced when a genealogy chart drawn up in Smallville High School exposes the fact that his ancestor during the Revolutionary War, Captain Sinbad Kent, was a notorious pirate. Superboy goes back in time, has an adventure with Sinbad Kent, and proves that he was actually a secret agent working for General Washington. After Superboy returns to the present, this is confirmed by the discovery of a document clearing Sinbad Kent’s name, signed by George Washington himself. The Kent family’s reputation is redeemed.
  • Superboy uses his powers of Total Recall and a Mind-Prober Ray to remember events of his babyhood on Krypton, with Jonathan Kent listening and Martha Kent transcribing Superboy’s recollections. He recalls how, about a year before Krypton’s destruction, Jor-El accidentally sent Krypto into space in a test rocket, breaking two-year-old Kal-El’s heart and causing Lara to take her son and leave him. But after Lara hears Jor-El called a fool at a public exhibition for having predicted Krypton’s imminent doom, she decides to return to her husband. Meanwhile, Superbaby accidentally triggers another experimental rocket which knocks Krypto’s rocket out of orbit and safely back to Krypton, where he is reunited with the puppy. Superboy emerges from his memory-session, deciding that he will continue with his memoirs in the future.
  • After Smallville city council president Swanson rejects the proposal to make Superboy an honorary member of the police force on the grounds that it might lead him to abuse his powers, the Boy of Steel unfairly but legally uses his powers to win a prize-fight and two contests. Then he gives all the prizes back to demonstrate he will not really abuse his powers. The city council votes to go ahead and give Superboy the honorary badge of a police deputy.
