  • The Lords of D'ni or the Five were the rulers of the D'ni civilization, holding the authority of the former King of D'ni. They came from the Guild hierarchy, being five Grand Masters. They were always five, and whenever one died, he was replaced by one of the Guild Grand Masters (possibly by election of the High Council). The First Five after the last King Kerath were: * Lord Taeri of the Guild of Messengers * Lord Hemelah of the Guild of Healers * Lord Moleth of the Guild of Caterers * Lord Kedri of the Guild of Writers * Lord Korenen of the Guild of Analysts

At the time of the Fall of D'ni, the last Great Lords were Grand Masters from the: Writers, Miners, Maintainers, Bookmakers, and Ink Makers, but Lords could come from other Guilds. Lord Nehir was a Stone Mason. The Five could vote in meetings of the Council, but only if the issue was considered important or controversial, or if the vote was tied.
