| abstract | - He played junior hockey with the Guelph Biltmores from 1955 to 1957. He then joined the hometown senior Belleville McFarlands as they won the Allan Cup in 1958. In 1958-59 he played for the Kelowna Packers. Starting in the 1958-59 playoffs Goyer embarked on a long career in the Western Hockey League (WHL). He played for the Seattle Totems, Victoria Cougars, Los Angeles Blades, Portland Buckaroos, Vancouver Canucks, and the San Diego Gulls. Goyer became the all-time WHL leading scorer. He took a brief break from the WHL in 1967-68 when he played for the Chicago Blackhawks, playing 40 games and scoring a goal and two assists and then playing in three playoff games. After the WHL folded in 1974, Goyer played three seasons for the senior Cranbrook Royals. In 1974-75 and 1975-76 he was the playing-coach. He retired in 1977.
