History FastMed’s first clinic was opened in Garner, NC in 2001 and was known as Wake Urgent Care. The clinic’s founders operated with a patient care focused model which was applied to every subsequent center. From 2001 to 2010 the network grew from 1 to 9 centers under the direction of Urgent Cares of America, the predecessor to FastMed Urgent Care. In 2010 Urgent Cares of America was purchased by the Comvest Group, a private equity firm based in West Palm Beach, Fla. In 2011, Urgent Cares of America purchased Urgent Care Express, a network of five centers operating in Arizona. In April of 2011 all 14 clinics were rebranded as the FastMed Urgent Care network. The facilities include a reception room, five to seven examination rooms, two surgical procedure rooms and an x-ray room. Treatment FastMed offers a full range of medical services that include onsite x-rays, labs, EKGs, IV fluids, stitches, occupational health services and more. The FastMed Occupational Health Program supports a workforce through preventive medicine, injury and general clinical care, disability management and education.
