| abstract | - Scottish actress Ginni Barlow played two roles in Coronation Street: small claims court clerk Mrs Taylor in February and March 1978 and Woman Police Inspector Walters in March 1981. An actress for almost fifty years, she was born in Dumbarton and educated locally before going to the Glasgow School of Art and then transferring to the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. She has worked in the theatre all over Scotland and England and appeared at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London for two years with the Theatre of Comedy. She was in Scottish Television's Garnock Way for its whole run, playing the landlady of the local pub. Her other television roles include Dr Finlay’s Casebook, Sutherland’s Law, Tutti Frutti, Casualty and a regular role in the soap Take the High Road as Gladys Lachlan from 1988-92. She lists amongst her hobbies oil painting, walking, singing and listening to classical music.
