The two brave republicans did their best to prevent war, but when it erupted they shipped Mallachi off to Yavin IV where he would be trained as a Jedi. Mallachi was chosen by master Kyle Katarn to be an apprentice, together, the two were skilled Blademasters. Katarn taught the young Human all he knew, eventually succeeding him to an Initiate in the rank of the Jedi Order. After passing through the trials of a Jedi Apprentice, Mallachi was granted Knight, and crafted himself two new lightsabers. About a month after his ceremony, Onasi heard of a devastating war raging across the galaxy like a wildfire. Despite this, Mallachi enlisted within the Katarn Commandos, and was accepted to battle with the soldiers. After numerous weeks and days of battling, Mallachi called himself to work with the Hutts to delegate peace. After the war, Mallachi became aware of his mother and father's death on Coruscant, where they were giving a speech in the senate chambers. Onasi proved a loyal and respectful descendant, worked hard to achieve his goals, and died a glad death of peace.
