During the early 1980s, when AIDS was just being noticed, the Atlanta Gay Center offered free AIDS testing and support groups. When the center closed, all of their operating files, news release files, and all other related historical documentation were given to the Atlanta History Center on West Paces Ferry Road, and is available for research purposes.
