Hizashi later helped Gai defeat Yuurei in the final showdown. After "A Certain Unlucky Person", Hizashi has settled down, as she lives with Gai in Rukongai, though she has been too shy to act on her feelings as of yet, mostly due to the physical age difference between the two, which she is ashamed of, and partly due to her horrible social skills. However, in Chapter Two of "Bleach: Rising Phoenix", Hizashi and Gai enter a relationship, before breaking up in Part IV due to Gai's opposition to marriage. One year after the end of "Bleach: Rising Phoenix", Hizashi and Gunha get together, and have a child together.
