The damage the technique can cause is lethal and potentially very destructive to an environment. Despite it's lethality, the technique is not without weakness and drawbacks. It requires very keen chakra control and a high amount of chakra is needed to even prepare for the technique. In addition, distraction or improper chakra control can lead to a "chakra overload" in the user's arm and hand - with potentially fatal results. The large amount of chakra the technique expends is exhausting and the trajectory of the attack makes it easy to avoid and impossible to use freely. As such, Ai relies on it only during the most dire of circumstances and even then only if a sure hit is possible. It is only reliable at a long range.
