During the first chapter, he will travel from the city for Romana's appointments, but will move into the valley permanently in the second chapter. He will live in Galen and Nina's old house, and you will be able to ask him questions about your health if you visit him while he's home. He also treats other people in the valley if need be, and is a friendly man who really enjoys the valley. Despite his intimidating appearance, he is a very caring man. He has lost his left eye to a contagious disease that he contracted while treating a patient. After the first chapter Hardy's attitude begins to change and he is more talkative to the player. He is also one of the few characters that can teach your son about their job and influence him on taking up that job. You can go to the clinic and talk to Hardy about your medical concerns. If befriended, he will also give the player a sickle. Befriending him may also influence your child to take up the Scholar career.
