rdfs:comment
  • A dragsaw is an early mechanical reciprocating saw using a long steel crosscut saw to buck logs to length. Prior to the popularisation of the chainsaw during the Second World War, the dragsaw was a manner of taking the hard work out of cutting wood. According to one hypothesis, evidence for the use of dragsaws may date back to the fourth dynasty of Egypt, two thousand years before its commonly accepted date of invention. Early dragsaws were steam powered and later gasoline powered.
