- Glad to hear it, {player}! We believe that all of the native wolves have been killed off by the Mimics, but oddly enough the other creature the Crescentwolf is mimicking -- the scorpion -- seems to have survived in Deadrock Canyon. Since we know a bit about scorpions, it would be great to compare them with the Crescentwolf.
- I hear you have some experience with the Crescentwolves down in the Ridgeback Highlands. I was hoping to get some specimens from these creatures, so are you available to help out the Mimicology Department again?
- I disected the Crescentwolf telsons, and they seem very similar to those of scorpions. There is something strange about the Crescentwolf though: Their stingers seem to have venom glands just like scorpions, but for some reason it doesn’t seem like they inject their victims with venom. Instead, I hear they lash out with their tails to ward off attackers.
- We're noticing a pattern with some Mimics, where they seem to be mimicking certain parts of other creatures, but aren't using them in the same way. I wonder if some earlier breed of Crescentwolf did inject venom with their stingers, and gradually started lashing out instead... or if some future breed of the Mimics will start using the venom. Very interesting! Anyway, thanks for helping out, and take this Sprocket I made about the creatures.
- It seems the telson is likely to be left behind when a Crescentwolf combusts... that's the stringer on the end of its tail. Try to collect 30 of these, and let me know when you've found enough!
