  • Codrington is a town located on the island of Barbuda, part of the country of Antigua and Barbuda.Codrington was first formed by the Codrington family in 1666 as the main residential centre.The population grew little until emigration in the 1950s,60s & 70s.then in 1719,Codrington & the island of Barbuda(sparsely populated)had its first census.It follows: 1719 census of people & animals by Sir William Codrington (1715-1790). In 1741 the first slave rebellion happened in Codrington.Beach's Rebellion arose as a consequence of manager Thomas Beach's "cruel and tyrannical" behaviour.
