| abstract | - Joseph J. Kilbride was a grocer and an art collector from Doshoweh who favoured the separation and independence of the North American Union from the British Empire. A clue found in Buckley Bay on the Queen Charlotte Islands in Vancouver, led Thomas Bushell to Doshoweh in search of the Sons of Liberty conspirators who had stolen The Two Georges painting. Major Shikalimo of the Doshoweh Constabulary showed Colonel Bushell, Dr. Kathleen Flannery and three other RAM Officers a list of possible suspects in the region. Dr. Flannery recognised Kilbride's name as an art collector. His fondness for art made before the founding of the Union made him the primary suspect. When Bushell and company came to Kilbride's house, the doorbell played the opening notes of the "Fallen Innocents" symphony, another sign of anti-royalist sentiment. The butler informed them that Mr. Kilbride was on business in Pennsylvania, so Bushell decided to question the employees of Kilbride's shop, Kilbride's Fine Food and Drink, for more information. Bushell soon found that Kilbride had headed to Charleroi, but was gone by the time Bushell's party got there. Bushell then tracked Kilbride to Boston. Kilbride was spotted in the Back Bay neighbourhood. When Bushell ordered him to stop, hoping to take him in for questioning, Kilbride pulled out a hand grenade. Bushell and Samuel Stanley were forced to shoot Kilbride to death, and the grenade killed only Kilbride's confederate, Mr. Cavendish.
