| abstract | - Saja Masrin was a Tiburonian politician. During the late 24th century, she represented her people on the Federation Council. Following death of Jaresh-Inyo and the Federation Civil War, she became President of the United Federation of Planets in 2374. During her term of office, she advocated an isolationist stance, and implemented policies that came to be known as the Nechayev doctrine. Masrin had entered her second term when the political climate began to change, even as her health started to decline. After a protracted illness, she died in late 2378, and a special election was called to elect the next Federation President. Her successor was Nan Bacco, former governor of Cestus III.
