  • Central Majatran coup d'état, 4103
rdfs:comment
  • A coup d'état was staged on 8 January 4103 by the Central Majatran Armed Forces in an effort to topple the government of President Ariston Galatos amidst tensions between the country's two main ethnic groups. The military, which was largely pro-ethnic Tukaric, expressed dissatisfaction with the pro-ethnic Kalopian government as early as in 4101, a year after it was elected in the 4100 general elections. President Galatos was killed during the uprising, his Kalopian Liberals party banned, and his administration replaced by that of Abdullah Hoca, an army general. While under military rule, the country was led by the Peace at Home Council, for which elections were held on 12 October 4103.
