  • Sarboe played college football at Washington State. He played in the National Football League for the Boston Redskins in 1934. He also played for the Chicago Cardinals and the Brooklyn Dodgers. He completed only 42.3 percent of his passes for just 1,133 yards, had a 4–26 career touchdown to interception ratio, and a career passer rating of 27.9. In 1941 and 1942 he coached at Central Washington University compiling a 6-6-3 record. From 1945 to 1949, he was the head coach at Washington State University, where he guided the Cougars to a 17–26–3 record. He then coached at Humboldt State University where he compiled a record of 104-37-5 between 1951 and 1965. In 1966, he coached at the University of Hawaii, where he posted a 4–6 record.
