| abstract | - Alastor's Hood is a Hood-class piece of armor found in Golden Sun: The Lost Age. It is found in a treasure chest in Mars Lighthouse, in an outside area beyond the Dragon door. Visually, Alastor's Hood resembles a brown hood with a silver face with a slit in it. Alastor's Hood features a defense rating of 47, the highest defense rating afforded by a Hat or Crown class item. It can be used to emulate the Condemn Psynergy on a foe for a chance at an instant kill, contrary to the item's in-game description of being used to Haunt a foe. It is bought for 11800 coins while its resale value is 8850. Its repair cost is 2950. Alastor's Hood, as a Hat-class item, is wearable by all eight Adepts. It is one of the best pieces of headgear in The Lost Age, outdone only by the Gloria Helm, Fear Helm, and Demon Circlet in terms of defense (of which the latter two are cursed). A lot of players, however, do not use it for its effect because Condemn rarely hits, and it only works on non-boss monsters, so it is in effect strictly worn for its defense, which means it can be considered inferior to other headwear, such as the Berserker Band or Mythril Helm, which have useful secondary effects.
