Equipped with four laser cannons and two warhead launchers the Phalanx makes up for its lack of speed and shielding by adding the two warhead launchers giving it an additional weapon to bring into combat. Even with the Confederate military's use of the Scythe, Valkyrie and Clawcraft the Phalanx is seen as a useful fighter that can be used as an interceptor, multipurpose fighter and escort craft. Regardless of its shortfalls the Phalanx stands in for the Clawcraft wonderfully according to those who have flown it or seen it in combat. Such fighters are rare, even for the Confederacy and its always limit pushing fighters.
