  • As much as he enjoyed the thrill of victory, Convarion was also a skilled tactician. Early in his career, he demonstrated a talent for capital warship combat, and while he wasn't innovative, he was cunning and could be ruthless. In 16 BBY, he was assigned as the first officer on the Victory Star Destroyer Corrupter, commanded by Captain Jack Nebulax. His superior was an irritable man with his own dreams of glory and was, in Convarion's mind, a relic of a bygone era, a crusty old veteran incapable of learning new tricks. Their relationship was far from platonic and indeed bordered on outright antagonism at times. To make matters worse, Corrupter was commandeered by the Inquisitorius to serve as the personal ship of a particularly testy Inquisitor named on Ajaur on a Jedi hunt. Not long into their mission, Convarion was the ranking officer on the bridge when a small freighter was spotted. Before he could do much, though, Nebulax arrived and ordered the ship to board it. The freighter crew turned out to be harboring Jedi, and though they landed inside the Corrupter, when Ajaur began to interrogate the captain, they launched an escape pod loaded with explosives inside the hangar and made their escape. The detonation injured both Nebulax and Ajaur and damaged the ship considerably, leaving Convarion in charge of making repairs. However, the freighter managed to escape to hyperspace. Convarion had the unfortunate duty of reporting his failure to capture the freighter. Both Nebulax and Ajaur wanted to hunt down that ship, but orders were relayed through Ajaur from Lord Vader that took them elsewhere. When Ajaur ordered an attack on the world of Susefvi, an unhappy Nebulax ordered Convarion to accompany the landing force. The world was swiftly occupied, though the invasion was far from Convarion's liking, as he would have preferred to be in space attacking pirates and other scum instead of occupying a nearly defenseless world. The menacing presence of Ajaur did little to ease him. His two months on Susefvi were quite unpleasant. Ajaur left shortly thereafter, sending Nebulax, Convarion, and the Corrupter to hunt for clues. Convarion received information from an informant on Darlyn Boda telling him of Jedi activity on that planet. The Corrupter went there and Convarion was once again sent to accompany Ajaur and the ground forces. After a bloody battle that resulted in many of the Jedi and Matukai Force-users being killed, Convarion was ordered by Nebulax to send his ground troops to recapture an Imperial ship that had been stolen by insurgents. That ran contrary to Ajaur's orders, and so the troops were withheld. The insurgents, Jedi, and Matukai joined forces and were able to escape. Ajaur was about to torture several recovered Imperial prisoners for information when Convarion arrived with news from another source from Commenor, who had uncovered a familial link to the Jedi were hunting. Nebulax appeared with a detachment of stormtroopers, having found justification to have Ajaur detained. The captain was irate with Convarion for not reporting the news from Commenor to him first, but Convarion slyly suggested that they allow Ajaur to go to Commenor and deal with the Jedi while under the pretense of having him transported as a prisoner. Nebulax agreed—and also to the lieutenant's suggestion of following Ajaur to Commenor to wipe out both the Jedi and the rebellious Inquisitor. They journeyed to Commenor, where the Jedi slew Ajaur and then attempted to escape. The Corrupter launched fighters to intercept them and the Jedi freighter was believed destroyed in a massive explosion. In fact, they had escaped to hyperspace, but the Imperials believed they were dead. Following the Battle of Endor and the fragmentation of the Empire, Convarion remained loyal to Ysanne Isard. He was killed in action against Rogue Squadron during the Bacta War when the Corrupter was lost with all hands aboard.
