| abstract | - Gohan was born into the Urahara Clan of Sunagakure, and from a very young age was seen as a prodigy. Do to the ways of his clan, Gohan had begun training the moment he turned 5 and was entered into the Suna Ninja Academy as the youngest in his class. Upon graduation at the mere age of just 6, he was recognized as the number one rookie in Suna and was to begin his Fire Release training. Then at the age of just 10 his clan had deemed him ready to take part in a clan tradition that would send him on his own for 4 years. The trial's purpose was to test whether or not they could survive and still remain loyal to Suna, upon their return. During the trial the clan member is able to do anything they need to survive and are also expected to learn new jutsu from outside the village to systematically strengthen Suna. During Gohan's trial he joined different villages as a spy for Suna to gather information over the two years he was to spend outside his village. The village he spent most of his time spying in was Kumogakure because of their library of jutsu that they have collected over many years and because he wanted to learn its weaknesses. While in Kumo, he became a courier ninja in order to gather secret information and secretly perform acts of espionage. Gohan then gained Kumo's trust by entering into the Kumo academy graduating and becoming a chūnin. As his squad leader he was assigned to Kariya Shinsui, soon to be a S-rank criminal. Kariya saw much potential in Gohan and began training him in the use of wire strings. After several months Gohan had picked up on just about every technique Kariya knew that utilized wire strings. Kariya was glad that Gohan was his student due to his raw skill and his ability to quickly learn and adapt, however that was all about to change. One day as Gohan was given a scroll to deliver, he opened the scroll and in it was a message relaying that the Land of Lightning's Feudal Lord was coming to Kumo for an important meeting regarding an attack on Sunagakure. Gohan knew that he had to come up with a plan that would allow him to assassinate the feudal lord but at the same time make it look like someone else did it. The day had come when the feudal lord arrived in Kumo and Gohan's only chance would be when the feudal lord was alone in his chambers. However, there would still be guards stationed outside his room and keeping watch else where. That night, Gohan scaled up a wall to the building that the feudal lord was staying in, and entered through a window. "Infiltration complete, 43 guards in total, 3 mid level, 20 above, 20 below" he stated as he sensed his enemies location. "I need to transform into someone who has clearance on these levels, Oh I know, TRANSFORMATION JUTSU"! Gohan has transformed into his Kumo sensei Kariya Shinsui. Gohan then made his way to the lower level of the building to the first 20 Kumo guard. One of the guards said "Kariya, your late where have you.....", in an instant the guard's head was severed with his wire strings and the other 19 soon followed. After that, Gohan easily wiped out the 3 guards on the mid level and the 20 on the top level. Then as a precaution he made a shadow clone transform into one of the guards and had it look like he was unconscious next to a wall. Then Gohan entered the room still transformed as Kariya. Meanwhile, the real Kariya was actually late due to training a lost track of time. He then made it to the building. "What is this" he proclaimed as he saw a hallway of dismembered guards. Kariya rushed to the feudal lord's room to find the feudal lord strung up with blood dripping from his body. Kariya then saw his killer, it was himself, "WHO ARE YOU" he demanded. The false Kariya smiled and said " Hello, sensei". A puff of smoked appeared and revealed Gohan, Kariya gasped "What did you do,...why, you know what I have to do now don't you Gohan"? Kariya drew out his wires, "What I've done, I didn't do anything sensei it was you who killed the guards and the feudal lord" as he smiled. "Maybe another time sensei", Gohan said as used his body flame technique. Then a large group of Kumo shinobi and the Raikage, Darui showed up. "What's the meaning of this Kariya, Kariya what have you done", asked Darui. The transformed clone got up and stared at Kariya and pointed, " YOU BASTARD, HOW DARE YOU KILL THE FEUDAL LORD, YOU WOULD BETRAY YOUR COUNTRY, I'LL KILL YOU". Darui looked at Kariya and said, "You have no idea what you just costed our village, you are here by stripped of you ranking and classified as a traitor to the Hidden Cloud Village, you will be arrested and await trial". As Kariya was taken away he looked back at the guard who had transformed back into Gohan, Kariya's eyes widened and Gohan lipped, "Bye Bye Sensei" with a smirk on his face. After the assassination Gohan waited to be assigned another mission from Kumo, and on the mission faked his own death so it would appear as if he knew nothing about it, and as if he died. Gohan actually left Kumo and still had one more year of his trial, he made his way to Kirigakure where he would train and spy on the village until his trial was over. While in Kirigakure he became a jōnin in under a month and perfected his use of wire strings. He also served as a courier ninja there and learned how to use paper-based ninjutsu. While on a mission his squad ran into a mysterious stranger that easily took out Gohan's entire squad, rather than show any signs of being upset Gohan was rather excited because he knew that this stranger was in fact his previous sensei, Kariya Shinsui. Which led into an insane battle between them. However, Gohan came out on top and finished his trial. Upon his return he was the only to come back to Suna, and there was a celebration held by the Urahara Clan for his safe return. He was also greeted back by his best friend Tetsmaru Jin who had been selected as the 6th Kazekage and his sensei Kankuro. After the celebration, the elders of his clan and the Sand higher ups promoted Gohan to the rank of ANBU captain, and Tetsumaru made Gohan his primary adviser. Later when Gohan and Tetsumaru were in the Kazekage chambers, Gohan disclosed all of the information he had acquired over the span of his trial. Tetsumaru then said "Excellent, were one step closer to crushing the other villages, and gaining control, great work Gohan". "Now that you have shared this information lets spar, I will update you on everything that has happened" said Tetsumaru.
