| abstract | - Moiraine goes to the anteroom of the Amyrlin's apartments. There she asks Elin Warrel if any news had come. When she walks back into the room Siuan hands her a cup of tea to bring to Gitara. As she offers the cup to Gitara she jerks to her feet. Trembling, she stands with her arms rigid at her sides and stares of the top of Moiraine's head with terror. Gitara foretells of the Dragon being reborn on the slopes of Dragonmount. With the last word, she gasps and falls dead into Moiraine's arms. Clearly upset, Tamra tells Moiraine and Siuan not to tell anybody about the Foretelling even if they must lie. They both agree. Tamra asks them to send in Elin Warrel, the novice on duty, so she can send her to get Gitara's serving woman. Moiraine figures she also wants to make sure Elin didn't hear anything.
