  • Coalition Government
rdfs:comment
  • Coalition Government is a type of Government that exists in countries with more than two major political parties (unlike the United States). A coalition government can be formed when the party in power does not have over half the seat in the elected assembly. Usually in this case two, or more opposition parties will join forces to gain over half the seats in the elected assembly and govern the country. This type of government is currently being used in the United Kingdom between David Cameron and Nick Clegg. A coalition government has also been discussed numerous times in Canada by Michael Ignatieff and Stephane Dion as a way to take Conservative, Stephen Harper out of power.
