After also directing episodes of Granada quiz show The Krypton Factor, he found greater success as a producer, with popular programmes such as The Grimleys, My Wonderful Life and Cold Feet. He also produced and directed the 1988 programme Minnie Caldwell Remembered - A Tribute to Margot Bryant.
