Creepy Vol 1 95 013.jpg
- An explorer stumbles into a central African village in a state of delirium and is sedated by a local doctor. When he gains control of himself he tells the doctor that he and his partner were searching for a legendary tribe of intelligent apes. When the partner builds a pit trap and skins one of the luckless creatures in order to don its skin and flush a live one out for capture, he disappears during the night. Eventually he shows up again, but stares straight ahead and doesn't speak. He leads the man to their canoe and points to go downstream. At first, the man doesn't want to leave his partner, but it turns out that an ape man was wearing his skin when he removes the head.
- Human researchers enhance apes to order to become warriors, but the war destroys all the humans leaving only the apes left.
