She is a qualified carpenter and Cramond hoped Amy would be a good role model for female viewers who wanted a similar occupation. Amy is a single mother to her 9-year-old son and Paul's first grandchild Jimmy (Darcy Tadich). Amy struggles to reconcile with her father and Cramond said Amy had a lot of pain to deal with.
