  • Jerry Glanville is a career American football coach. During his time in the National Football League, he coached the Houston Oilers , and the Atlanta Falcons . He became infamous for trading superstar quarterback Brett Favre to the Green Bay Packers in 1991; less remembered is the fact that Favre was an erratic, rookie back-up with Atlanta. Glanville has also worked as an analyst on HBO's Inside the NFL, CBS's The NFL Today and FOX's coverage of the NFL. He is currently the defensive coordinator for the University of Hawaii's football team, working under his former coordinator, June Jones. While still coaching in the NFL, Glanville was famous for often leaving tickets at will-call for the late Elvis Presley, wearing all-black in honor of Johnny Cash, and driving replicas of vehicles driven by James Dean. Glanville also had a career as a NASCAR driver, driving in six Nationwide Series races with a best finish of 20th at Volusia County Speedway in 1992 and 27 Craftsman Truck Series events with a best career effort of 14th . NASCAR Stats Prior to coaching, he was a linebacker for Northern Michigan University. He also races on the ARCA circuit. Glanville's name and voice appeared as part of the Sega Genesis game Jerry Glanville's Pigskin Footbrawl, a medieval take on football.
